Mildred Lorene Windeknecht, 72, of Scott City died Friday, May 21, 2010, at her home. She was born June 29, 1937, in Cape Girardeau to Lorien and Iona Rubel Bogenpohl. She and Bobby G. Windeknecht were married Saturday, Nov. 19, 1955, at Egypt Mills. She graduated from Trinity Lutheran School and College High School in Cape Girardeau. She worked for Ely Walker in Scott City and at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau...

Mildred Lorene Windeknecht, 72, of Scott City died Friday, May 21, 2010, at her home.

She was born June 29, 1937, in Cape Girardeau to Lorien and Iona Rubel Bogenpohl. She and Bobby G. Windeknecht were married Saturday, Nov. 19, 1955, at Egypt Mills. She graduated from Trinity Lutheran School and College High School in Cape Girardeau. She worked for Ely Walker in Scott City and at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City and the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Bobby G. Windeknecht of Scott City; a daughter, Shelia (Jon) Eno of Dover, Ark.; two sons, Alan Windeknecht of Scott City and Steve (Lisa) Windeknecht of Cape Girardeau; a granddaughter, Amber Windeknecht of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Rosena (Troy) Willard of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service today at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating.

Burial will be in Eisleben Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to Saxony Lutheran High School.
