LEORA -- Mildred I. Wilfong, 77, of Leora died Friday, March 19, 1999, at her home.
She was born Oct. 16, 1921, at Kinder, daughter of John and Mattie Kitchen Wright. She and Thurman "Whitey" Wilfong were married Nov. 8, 1942, at Puxico.
Wilfong lived in the Leora area most of her life with the exception of several years in Cottage Hills, Ill. She moved back to the area in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, John Wilfong of Kingwood, Texas, Kelley Wilfong of Cottage Hills; two daughters, Janice George of East Alton, Ill., Nancy Roberts of Bethalto, Ill.; a brother, Millie Wright of Floyd, Va.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doug Scott officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery near Puxico.
