Mildred S. Swaim, 95, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Bixby, Oklahoma, to Freeman and Bess Burton Smith. She and Richard Swaim were married April 6, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Mildred graduated from Ruskin High School in Hickman, Missouri, in 1937.

Survivors include daughter Kathleen (Greg) Boldrey of Sikeston, Missouri; a sister, Wanda (Jack) Zander of Lee's Summit, Missouri; grandchildren Dr. Andrew (Michelle) Boldrey and Aaron (Rachel) Boldrey, both of Sikeston; and great-grandchildren Samantha Boldrey and Mary Kathleen Boldrey, both of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Robert; and one brother.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Geoff Posegate officiating. Entombment will follow the service at the mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be given to Chateau Girardeau Foundation, 3120 Independence St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701, and Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 N. Ellis St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
