EL DORADO, Ark. -- Mildred Ann Townsend Smith, 88, of El Dorado, previously a resident of North Charleston, South Carolina, for 69 years, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016. She was born to the late Mildred Sanderson Townsend Hanson and late Paul E. Townsend in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on April 28, 1928. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Peter P. Smith, and son, David A. Smith...

EL DORADO, Ark. -- Mildred Ann Townsend Smith, 88, of El Dorado, previously a resident of North Charleston, South Carolina, for 69 years, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016.

She was born to the late Mildred Sanderson Townsend Hanson and late Paul E. Townsend in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on April 28, 1928. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Peter P. Smith, and son, David A. Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Hilda Smith (John) Lee of El Dorado and Barbara J. (Allan) Reinagel of Kelso, Missouri; six grandchildren, Cindy (John) Lightfoot of El Dorado, David (Mark) Smith of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Michael (Amber) Patterson of El Dorado, Lisa Ingham of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Barbara (Juan) Benard of Jackson and Allan Reinagel II of Kelso; six great-grandchildren, Drew Boshears of El Dorado, Britni Carter of Oak Ridge, C.J. Ingham of Savannah, Georgia, Alex Ingham of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Myriah Bernard of Jackson and Rachael Patterson of El Dorado; and two great-great-grandchildren, Martina Boshears and Landon Ingham.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Life Touch Hospice of El Dorado.

The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, to make memorials in her honor to the Union County Animal Protection Society at 1000 Sunset Road, El Dorado, AR 71730
