MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Mildred Lucille Page, 92, of Marble Hill died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Woodland Hills in Marble Hill. She is now playing piano for the heavenly choir.
She was born July 6, 1918, in Lutesville, Mo., daughter of Willard and Minnie Bretz Hastings.
Mildred graduated from Lutesville High School and from hairdressing school before she married Gale Ruben Page on Oct. 5, 1943, in St. Louis.
They were parents of three children, Danny Page (deceased), Donnie (Sandy) Page of Glenallen, Mo., and Diane Runnels of Jackson.
Gale died in 1948 from war wounds, and Mildred raised her children in Lutesville working as a hairdresser. She was a gifted pianist and played for area churches.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Gale (Michele) Page of Glenallen, Lucas Page of St. Louis, Amber (Stan) Beel of Marble Hill, Tracy (Rob) Morehead of Chaffee, Mo., and Angie (Kris) Jeffers, Andrea Brown and Amie (Neil) Glass, all of Jackson; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A brother, William Hastings, and two sisters, Mary Hill and Wilma Johnson, also preceded her in death.
The funeral was Tuesday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Huffman officiating. Burial was in Glenallen Cemetery.
