Mildred Rose Little, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at her home.
She was born June 23, 1921, in St. Louis, daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Godefroid Martin. She and Leonard O. Little Jr. were married Nov. 29, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. He died May 22, 1990.
Little moved from St. Louis to Oran, Mo., as a child. When in her teens, the family moved to Cape Girardeau. After marriage, she lived in Woodriver, Ill., Quincy, Ill., and Owensboro, Ky. She moved back to Cape Girardeau about 1950.
She was a graduate of the Old St. Mary's High School in Cape Girardeau.
Little worked at the International Shoe Factory and then as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward, Auto, Tire and Parts and Cheekwood Studio.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Tuesday morning prayer group at the church and the Bible Study Fellowship.
Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Little and Cathy Cheek and husband Bill, all of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Albert Martin of Kelso, Mo.; and two grandsons, Jason S. Cheek and Andrew D. Cheek.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be said at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate, with burial in Cape County Memorial Park.
