PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Mildred Theresa Kiefer, 89, of Perryville passed away Thursday, Oct.21, 2021, at her home.
She was born Aug. 6, 1932, daughter of the late John and Myrtle Schremp Glaub. Mildred and Troy S. Kiefer were united in marriage on Dec. 8, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death June 20, 1999.
Mildred enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting, dancing, crafts and carpentry. She retired from the International Shoe Company and was a former member of the Daughter of Isabella, Ladies of Charity, and former president of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, Michael K. (Wilma) Kiefer, Troy J. (Anna) Kiefer, Kenneth A. (Karen) Kiefer and Daniel H. (Darlene) Kiefer; daughters, Louise M. (late Roy) Finger, Mary T. (Rick) Hoehn; half brother, Robert (Sherry) Glaub; half sister, Mary Lou Favier; son-in-law Bill J. Fischer; daughter-in-law Karen J. Kiefer; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Troy S. Kiefer; son, Dwight D. "Buddy" Kiefer; daughters, Kathy A. Fischer and infant Juanita Kiefer; son-in-law, Roy E. Finger; infant grandsons, Robert Finger, Dwight Kiefer Jr. and Nathan P. Kiefer; brother, Ralph "Bud" Glaub; sisters, Catherine Delaney Wood, Delores Majors Smith, Virginia Keller and Anna Oney; half brothers, Harold Joe Glaub, John Glaub and Danny Glaub; and half sister, Ruby Brown.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville, with parish prayers beginning 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Ben Melaku officiating. Interment will take place in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the St. Vincent de Paul School or Legacy Hospice.
