CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Mildred I. Ross Keller, 90, of Chaffee went to the arms of Jesus on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, surrounded by love at her home, to join her husband, two sons and extended family.

She was born Dec. 9, 1923, in Parma, Mo., to David Tillman and Lizzie Angelee Sanders Ross. She married the love of her life, Earl Russell Keller, on Sept. 10, 1938, in Benton, Mo. He left this world to meet Jesus on May 7, 1983, after 44 years of marriage.

Mildred was an active member in her church, First Assembly of God, serving as a children's Sunday school teacher many years in Chaffee and Cape Girardeau. She attended church regularly and visited other denominations just for the love of Jesus Christ our Savior. She is past SOS Club president, lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary 3127 and Ladies American Legion Auxiliary.

She and her late husband owned and operated Keller's Market a number of years. She spent a lifetime of caring for children in her home until she retired. She loved the children she cared for very much, and most still refer to her as Grandma Keller. She loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, and was active with them as long as her health prevailed. She loved people, especially children, referring to them as God's treasures.

Loving survivors include four sons, Walter R. Keller of Chaffee, Robert L. (Margie) Keller and Kenneth E. (Bonnie) Keller of Scott City and David L. (Valerie) Keller of Chaffee; and a daughter, Sarah J. (Danny) Gordon of Chaffee. She is leaving a legacy of nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Ross McIntosh of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews who referred to her as Aunt Mill.
