MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Mildred H. James, 90, of Wood River, Ill., formerly of Marble Hill, died Monday, June 17, 2002, at VIP Nursing Home in Wood River. She was born May 25, 1912, in Panama, Ill., daughter of William and Melissa Carlock May. She married John T. Webster Sr., who died March 10, 1981. She and Melburn James were married April 29, 1961. He died March 10, 2001...

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Mildred H. James, 90, of Wood River, Ill., formerly of Marble Hill, died Monday, June 17, 2002, at VIP Nursing Home in Wood River.

She was born May 25, 1912, in Panama, Ill., daughter of William and Melissa Carlock May. She married John T. Webster Sr., who died March 10, 1981. She and Melburn James were married April 29, 1961. He died March 10, 2001.

James was a member of Point Pleasant General Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, John Webster of Beaumont, Texas, George Webster of Moscow Mills, Mo., Gary Webster of Granite City, Ill.; two daughters, Donna Arview of Wood River, Joan Presswood of Scott City, Mo.; a stepson, Timmy James of Marble Hill; a stepdaughter, Ellen Godwin of Marble Hill; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 10 a.m. to noon today.

Funeral will be at noon today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lloyd Green officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery.
