GORDONVILLE -- Mildred Jewel Tankersley, 78, of Gordonville, died Tuesday, July 23, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Sept. 26, 1912, in Bollinger County, daughter of Abraham and Nessie Patton Lincoln. She married Earnest Arvin Tankersley May 27, 1934. He died Dec. 26, 1989.

Tankersley was a member of Plainview Methodist Church.

Survivors include six sons, Bob Tankersley of Chaffee Route 2, Bill Tankersley of Delta, Jerry Tankersley of Perkins, Doyle Tankersley of Jefferson City, Jimmy Tankersley of Millersville, Danny Tankersley of Gordonville; three daughters, Joyce Spane of Chaffee Route 2, Lois Thomas and Tina Eaker of Jackson; a brother, Charles Lincoln of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Viola Ridings of Patton, Valley Davenport of Bessville; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and three stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Don Hendrix will officiate, with burial in Williams Cemetery at Perkins.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
