TAMMS, Ill. -- Mildred Idell Harris, 79, of Tamms died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at her home. She was born July 7, 1922, in Paducah, Ky., daughter of Gipson and Lula Vinson Tubbs. TAMMS, Ill. -- Mildred Idell Harris, 79, of Tamms died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at her home.

She was born July 7, 1922, in Paducah, Ky., daughter of Gipson and Lula Vinson Tubbs. She married Robert Harris, who died in 1990.

Formerly of Cairo, Ill., Harris was a member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Thebes, Ill.

Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Kimbrell of Paducah, Monda Walker of Taylor, Mich., Connie Smith of Rockford, Ill., Jeanetta Wilson of Tamms; three sons, Edward Welch of Lake Charles, La., Robert Welch of Tamms, and Larry Harris of Tamms.

Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Christine Simmons of Cairo, Peggy Slayton and Patricia Thompson of Clarksville, Tenn.; three stepsons, Junior Harris of Michigan, Lonnie Harris of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Doug Harris of Tamms; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stepson, two stepdaughters, two sisters, and a brother.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. today, and at Apostolic Church after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Ronnie Lumpkin and Bishop Jimmie Monahan officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
