JACKSON -- Mildred Grossman, 84, of Jackson died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, in an automobile accident in Topeka, Kan.
She was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Jackson, daughter of J.S. and Daisy Cowan Godwin. She married John Hutz Grossman May 18, 1935. He preceded her in death.
Grossman was a seamstress at International Shoe Co. more than 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, taught Sunday School, was a member of Fidel Sunday School Class, and a longtime member of Women's Missionary Union.
Survivors include five sisters, Wilma Walker and Mary Headrich of Jackson, Hazel Williams of Cape Girardeau, Lela Schlue of Arnold, Wanda Woodall of St. Charles; two brothers, Woodrow Godwin of Cape Girardeau, and Morrell Godwin of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. Brian Anderson and the Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
