EAST PRAIRIE -- Mildred Almeda Greer, 66, of East Prairie died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Barnes Hospital Extended Care in St. Louis. She was born June 12, 1933, in New Madrid, daughter of Welton Edward and Ovella Mae Stokes Scott. She and Harold David Greer were married Feb. 9, 1950. He died July 24, 1990...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Mildred Almeda Greer, 66, of East Prairie died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Barnes Hospital Extended Care in St. Louis.

She was born June 12, 1933, in New Madrid, daughter of Welton Edward and Ovella Mae Stokes Scott. She and Harold David Greer were married Feb. 9, 1950. He died July 24, 1990.

Greer lived in St. Louis most of her life, moving to East Prairie in May 1991. She was a member of First Church of God.

She worked 18 years at Schlueter Manufacturing Co. in St. Louis. She was a member of Steel Workers Local 2393, Temple Club, Florissant Chapel 161 Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Scottish Rite Women's Club, all in St. Louis.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Willis of St. Louis; four brothers, Sammy and Bennie Scott of Glasgow, Ky., Donald Scott of Charleston, Arlie Scott of Wood River, Ky.; three sisters, Opal Parham of Sikeston, Ann Little of East Prairie, Martha Jackson of Glasgow; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Larry Smith will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
