BERTRAND, Mo. -- Mildred Leoria Eifert, 85, of Calhoun, Ga., died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Gordon Health Care Center in Calhoun. She was born Aug. 12, 1917, at Rockview, Mo., daughter of John and Rose Holmes Wooley. She and Norman W. Eifert were married May 17, 1941. He died Aug. 2, 1989...

BERTRAND, Mo. -- Mildred Leoria Eifert, 85, of Calhoun, Ga., died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Gordon Health Care Center in Calhoun.

She was born Aug. 12, 1917, at Rockview, Mo., daughter of John and Rose Holmes Wooley. She and Norman W. Eifert were married May 17, 1941. He died Aug. 2, 1989.

Eifert lived in Bertrand most of her life, where she owned and operated Mildred's Cut and Curl 23 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Bertrand. She moved to Calhoun three years ago.

Survivors include a son, Jim Eifert of Cartersville, Ga.; two brothers, J.D. Wooley of Springfield, Mo., Harold Wooley of St. Louis; two sisters, Mary Hare of Essex, Mo., Doris Tejeda of Sikeston, Mo.; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Billy Jones officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
