SCOTT CITY -- Mildred Faye Crites, 75, of Scott City died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at her home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1921, at Fornfelt, daughter of Lester and Tessie Nolan Pinkston. She first married Ted Wolfe May 20, 1939. He died Feb. 17, 1968. She later married Basil Crites April 29, 1972, at Kelso.
Crites was a salesclerk at Brown Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Illmo United Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6407, and Ladies Auxiliary to Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Millie Sue Ancell and Bobbie Avery of Scott City; a stepson, Michael Crites of Memphis, Tenn.; four stepdaughters, Dorothy Crites of Kelso, Jane Crites and Mary Sue Crites of Scott City, Theresa Echolls of Memphis; a brother, Kenneth Pinkston of St. Louis; three sisters, Emma Rhodes of Scott City, Ruby Heyen of Dorchester, Bette Jackson of Hobe Sound, Fla.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 4 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Revs. William Dickey and Jim Woeltje officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
