Mildred Kistner Carmack, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born May 6, 1915, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Walter and Mary Thomas Kistner. She married Curtis Carmack on March 19, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mildred graduated from Central High School in 1933. She worked at International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau 26 years.
After her husband retired in 1960 they moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., where she worked as a bookkeeper for a construction company. In 1997 she moved back to Cape Girardeau where she became a resident at Chateau Girardeau.
Mildred was a member at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau before moving to Florida, and again upon her return.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at noon Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Shupert officiating. Burial will be alongside her husband in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
