Mildred Esther Brown, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 5, 2002, at her home. She was born March 4, 1911, at Crosstown, Mo., daughter of John C. and Esther E. Cox Davis. She and Everett Franklin Brown were married June 27, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. He died Oct. 23, 1967...

Mildred Esther Brown, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 5, 2002, at her home.

She was born March 4, 1911, at Crosstown, Mo., daughter of John C. and Esther E. Cox Davis. She and Everett Franklin Brown were married June 27, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. He died Oct. 23, 1967.

She had lived in Payson, Ill., and Edmond, Okla., moving to Cape Girardeau in 1956. She was a member of First Baptist Church and its Mary Slessor Sunday School Class and Barrett WMU Group. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star and was a volunteer at Cape Girardeau Senior Center many years.

Survivors include two sons, Elwyn Brown of Cape Canaveral, Fla., Lyman Brown of Houston, Mo.; a daughter, Ruth Heuring of St. Peters, Mo.; three brothers, Henry Davis of Jackson, Mo., Homer Davis of Tacoma, Wash., Percy Davis of Perryville, Mo.; five sisters, Vera Farrow, Lillie Kraemer, Zeta Putz and Lillian Weber, all of Jackson, Melva Floyd of Oak Ridge, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

There is no visitation.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home. The Rev. Jay White will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
