Mildred Dorothy Archer, 81, of Jackson died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at Jackson Manor.
She was born June 5, 1925, in Greenup, Ill., daughter of Benjamin and Bertha Gressell Shiels. She and Ray Archer were married Oct. 18, 1947.
Archer was a 1943 graduate of Casey High School in Casey, Ill. She worked at Manaring Pharmacy in Indianapolis, Ind., from 1947 to 1950, worked at Gaseen Pharmacy in St. Louis from 1950 to 1957, and worked in ticket information with Trailways Bus Co. in St. Louis from 1957 to 1984.
She moved to Jackson in August 2005 from Buffalo, Mo.
Survivors include her husband; a brother, Robert Shiels of Casey; four sisters, Betty Kirkpatrick of Danville, Ill., Helen Orrell of Highland, Ill., Marion Wright of Houston, Texas, and Shirley Athey of Casey.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to service time.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Old Goshen Cemetery at Oak Ridge.
