MIKE SLIPIS SR.

MORLEY -- Mike Slipis Sr., 89, of Morley died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.

He was born Dec. 21, 1908, in St. Louis, son of George and Katherine Hrynak Slipis. He and Mabel Irene Pratt were married Oct. 24, 1933. She died Jan. 6, 1984.

Slipis moved to Morley in 1957 from Grant City. He worked at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston, retiring in 1971. He was a member of Morley Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Sammy Slipis of Morley; four daughters, Eileen Jaimet of Baldwin, Ill., Ruby Winters of Bedford, Ind., Rosemary Nichols of Brooks, Calif., Kathy Ulmer of Morley; two brothers, Tony Slipis of Edwardsville, Ill., Frank Cardu of St. Louis; a sister, Mary Craig of Morley; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran from 6-9 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Morley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Garden at Morley.
