BENTON, Mo. — Mike Fodge, son of Helen Helms Fodge of Benton and the late Eugene Fodge, was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Catron, Missouri, and departed his life Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, at his home in Benton at the age of 72 years. BENTON, Mo. — Mike Fodge, son of Helen Helms Fodge of Benton and the late Eugene Fodge, was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Catron, Missouri, and departed his life Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, at his home in Benton at the age of 72 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971.

Mike worked various jobs over the years, including Jim Wilson Co., Brase Incorporated, Sam Tanksley Trucking and Tetra Pak for 17 years, where he served as union president for several of those years.

He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and VFW. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in his man cave.

On Sept. 24, 1971, Mike was united in marriage to Jeannie Hennemann in Benton. She survives of the home in Benton.

Besides his wife and mother, survivors include two sons, Cory Fodge of Benton and Chad (Allison) Fodge of New Hamburg, Missouri; daughter, Casey (Trevor) Irwin of Benton; grandchildren, Taylor (Casey) Cardwell, Tristin (Bayley) Fodge, Ahren Fodge, Brayden Volkerding, Colton Fodge, Sophie Fodge, Easton Fodge, Emerson Irwin, Everly Irwin and Blaise Irwin; two great-grandchildren, Khloe Cardwell and Brantley Fodge; and four sisters, Sandra (Lloyd) Hill, Donna (Randy) Tippy, Glenda (Randy) Enderle and Rita (Brad) Milam.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Jim Hunott.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at the church, with the Rev. Bala Sway Govindu officiating. Interment will follow in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
