Michael Lee Willingham, 34, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 24, 1986, in Cape Girardeau to J. Robert and Pat Willingham.
A 2005 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School, he attended Southeast Missouri State University, majoring in communication studies.
Michael was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved going to the games and to the Winter Warm-Ups. He loved bicycles and BMX racing. He worked at Cape Bicycle doing assembly and repairs on all types of bicycles and exercise equipment.
Survivors include his parents, J. Robert and Pat Willingham of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, David (Courtney) of Jackson, Daniel of St. Louis and Matthew (Audrey) Willingham of Springdale, Arkansas; four nieces, one nephew, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John and Yvonne Willingham, and maternal grandparents, Matt and Lee Townsley.
A private graveside service will be held at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri or to Craig Hospital, 3425 S. Clarkson St., Englewood, CO 80113.
