Michael Denver Tarrants, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Southeast Hospital.
He was born Aug. 7, 1949, in Cedar Hill, Missouri, to William and Opal Lacy Tarrants.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Mike worked for General Motors and Chrysler Corp. in St. Louis, retiring from Chrysler after 29 years of employment.
He was an outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony “Tony” (Julie) Tarrants of Cape Girardeau and Scott Tarrants of Sikeston, Missouri; and one daughter, Mysti (Buck) Nunn of Cape Girardeau. He also is survived by his former wife, Laura Ann Johnson of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, Missouri.
