Michael Ernest "Turtle" Strong, 49, of Marble Hill, Mo., died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 26, 1957, in Cape Gir­ar­deau, son of Mulley Edward and Ernestine Douglas Strong.
Strong worked as a backhoe operator for Big River Cable Company and was of the Congregational Methodist faith.
He is survived by a son, Bryan Strong of Scopus, Mo.; a daughter, Laura Roark of Marble Hill; his mother, Ernestine Strong of Marble Hill; a brother, Matt Strong of Scopus; and nine grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mulley Strong.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Revs. Earl Elfrink, Jason Myers and Ray Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Cook Cemetery in Scopus, Mo.
