JACKSON -- Michael Philip, 85, of Rotterdam, N.Y., died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at his home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Cyprus.
Philip came to Kingston, N.Y., as a young man and owned and operated Michael's Restaurant and Diner several years. He had lived in Rotterdam since 1982. He was a member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, and former member of Kingston Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Margarita George; three sons, George Philip of Burnt Hills, N.Y., Harry Philip of Jackson, Michael Philip of West Sand Lake, N.Y.; a daughter, Barbara Proestos of Scotia, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home in Colonie, N.Y., from 4-8 p.m. today. A trisagion service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church in Albany, N.Y. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
