Michael O'Connell

Michael L. O'Connell, 52, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 24, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 27, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, son of Elmer and Ann Reed O'Connell.

O'Connell was a 1969 graduate of Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He was employed in the maintenance department at St. Francis Medical Center. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel, Elks Loge 639 and Eagles Aerie 3775.

Survivors include a daughter, Carie O'Connell; a son, Keith O'Connell; his mother, all of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, James O'Connell of Cape Girardeau, Jerry O'Connell Geolat of Bonne Terre, Mo.; his fiancee, Lena Johns of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. An Elks service will be held at 7 p.m.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
