Mr. Michael "Mike" W. Skinner of 240 Skinner Ln. in Jackson, MO passed away at his home Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997 at the age of 40. He was born Jan. 21, 1957 in Cape Girardeau the son of Warren S. and Ella A. Wedekind Skinner. Mike graduated from Jackson High School in 1975. ...

Mr. Michael "Mike" W. Skinner of 240 Skinner Ln. in Jackson, MO passed away at his home Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997 at the age of 40.

He was born Jan. 21, 1957 in Cape Girardeau the son of Warren S. and Ella A. Wedekind Skinner.

Mike graduated from Jackson High School in 1975. After graduation he worked with the family business, Warren Skinner Plumbing & Heating for several years. He also worked within another phase of the family business known as Warren Skinner, Inc. driving an over-the-road truck.

From 1992-95 he was a self-employed plumber. In 1995 he became disabled, due to a brain tumor and was unable to continue his working career but shared much of his time with his friends at McDowell Station at Fruitland and his friends within the Jackson Jaycees.

He was a member of the Emanuel United Church of Christ and a former member of the DeMolays.

He had served as a Past President of the Jackson Jaycees and had received numerous awards.

Surviving is his daughter Lori Skinner of Jackson, his parents Mr. & Mrs. Warren (Ella) Skinner of Jackson, and a brother Mark Skinner of Jackson.

Visitation will be from 4-8 Thursday and the funeral ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate and burial will be in the Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be given to the Emanuel United Church of Christ of Jackson.
