Michael D. Jackson, 54, of Cape Girardeau went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Dec. 6, 1960, in Gainesville, Georgia, to Dean and Judith Ingram Jackson. He leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Cynthia.
Michael was a wonderful husband, who adored and cherished his wife. He was an epic father who always put his own desires aside to provide for his wife and children, and never expected much in return.
He was an avid history buff, gun collector and sci-fi enthusiast. Michael had a wonderful, unique sense of humor. He loved music and was very proud of his family and their musical talents and abilities. He and his wife owned and operated CJ Cleaning Service. He also worked with Shawnee Surveying and Consulting. He was a member of Cape First Church, attending services at House of Hope. Michael was dedicated to serving and loving the Lord.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Micah Mungle (J.D.) of St. Louis and Cara Taylor (Terry), Kaela Criddle (Aaron) and Alexa Jackson, all of Cape Girardeau; a grandson, Elijah Mungle of St. Louis; his mother, Judith Jackson of Cleveland, Georgia; a sister, Kim Tumlin (Jimmy) of Cleveland; two brothers, Stephen Jackson (Sallie) of Gainesville and Jon Jackson (Susie) of Cleveland; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Family and friends may gather from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Blake Tiemann officiating. Interment will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Cardwell Cemetery in Cardwell, Missouri.
