Michael Goodermote

HERRIN, Ill. -- Michael William Goodermote, 49, of Herrin died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at his home.

He was born Nov. 22, 1953, in Alexander County, Ill., son of William "Web" and Mary Summers Goodermote. He and Nancy Jacobs were married Nov. 20, 1992, in Murphysboro, Ill.

Goodermote worked 15 years at Allen Industries, and later worked at Wal-Mart.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Herrin; a stepdaughter, Farrah Hayes of Carterville, Ill.; a stepson, Jeff Stone of Herrin; a sister, Marilyn Melton of Olive Branch, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Colson officiating.

Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery.
