Michael W. Curtner, 38, of Knoxville, Tenn., lost his battle with a malignant brain tumor Thursday, July 12, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospice Care Center in Knoxville.
Michael was born March 23, 1963, at Sikeston, Mo., son of C.R. and Reva Curtner, who survive.
He and Marlene Hammontree were married July 5, 1996. His wife survives along with their son, Mason.
Michael was raised in the Sikeston area, and had lived the last several years in the Knoxville area.
Other survivors include four sisters, Patricia Summers and Janet Miller of Cape Girardeau, Julie Hupp of Benton, Mo., Carolyn Arwood of Sevierville, Tenn.; two brothers, Charles Curtner of West Seneca, N.Y., and Gary Curtner of Sevierville.
Family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau for a memorial service.
