Meyer Myers, 90, of Haines City, Fla., passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 5, 1922, at Zalma, Mo., the son of Avery and Lois Slinkard Tippett.
Meyer was an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He also was a 32nd degree Mason.
Meyer and Nelline Tippett were united in marriage, and she preceded him in death Sept. 15, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, Meyer "Nick" Myers II of Hillsboro, N.C., and Christopher Myers of Key West, Fla.; a sister, Normandy Myers of Jackson; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a son, Ralph Myers.
A graveside service with full military rites and a Mason service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Mo., with the Rev. Jerry Wiler officiating.
Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
