WHITEWATER -- Meta Lydia Deneke, 78, of Whitewater, died Tuesday, May 21, 1996, at her home. She was born Oct. 13, 1917, at Gordonville, daughter of Paul and Lydia Nussbaum Coch. She and Frederick C. Deneke were married April 26, 1940. He died Dec. 30, 1991...

WHITEWATER -- Meta Lydia Deneke, 78, of Whitewater, died Tuesday, May 21, 1996, at her home.

She was born Oct. 13, 1917, at Gordonville, daughter of Paul and Lydia Nussbaum Coch. She and Frederick C. Deneke were married April 26, 1940. He died Dec. 30, 1991.

Deneke was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women, and Poplar Ridge 4-H Club.

Survivors include a son, Larry Deneke of Whitewater; a daughter, Barbara Reitzel of Whitewater, and five grandchildren.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion Church, with the Rev. Conway Briscoe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
