BERTRAND -- Mervin Eugene "Blue" Jones Sr., 50, of Bertrand, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 1991, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born Sept. 6, 1941, at Wyatt, son of Harley and Nervy Woodward Jones. He and Alice Faye Gulledge were married June 4, 1963.
Jones had lived here since 1974. He was employed by Morrow Farms Inc., and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mervin E. Jones Jr. of Bertrand; three daughters, Janet Young of Lees Summit, Sharon Lay of Portland, Ore., Jill Jones of the home; a brother, Steven Jones of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Anna Temple of Belleville, Ill., Jane Figley of Cunningham, Ky.; two grandchildren, Jason Lay of Portland, and Jennifer Jones of Bertrand.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Jones.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. Lawrence Ray will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 tonight.
