JACKSON -- Meredith Alise Adams, 22, of Jackson died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 1998, in an automobile accident on Highway 61 North near Center Junction. She was born June 22, 1976, in St. Louis, daughter of Robert "Bob" and Laraine Adams. A 1994 graduate of Jackson High School, Adams was a member of band, Chamber Choir, French Club, and had been a cheerleader. She received first place at Missouri State Vocal Competition, and toured Europe with the French Club...

JACKSON -- Meredith Alise Adams, 22, of Jackson died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 1998, in an automobile accident on Highway 61 North near Center Junction.

She was born June 22, 1976, in St. Louis, daughter of Robert "Bob" and Laraine Adams.

A 1994 graduate of Jackson High School, Adams was a member of band, Chamber Choir, French Club, and had been a cheerleader. She received first place at Missouri State Vocal Competition, and toured Europe with the French Club.

Adams was a member of First Baptist Church, had won numerous beauty pageants, and was named Miss Homecomers 1994.

She was employed at Capitol Hill Realty in Cape Girardeau. She previously was manager of Pegases Jewelry Store in Owensboro, Ky., and had worked at Young's Thriftway Drugs in Jackson.

Survivors include her parents; a brother, Blake Adams of the home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Adams; maternal grandfather, Marvin Niswonger; and her fiance, Michael Keefer, all of Jackson.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Brian Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
