Melvonia Parrow, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 27, 2018, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Parma, Missouri, to James and Georgia Clark Ruffin. She and Percy Parrow were married Oct. 9, 1954, at New Madrid, Missouri.
She loved gardening and working on puzzle books. She had a passion to read the Bible. She loved spending time with her children and all of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her four daughters, Lita (Anderson) Cowson, Ruth (Robert) Alexander, Lilly (Vincent) Twiggs and Earnestine Parrow, all of Cape Girardeau; four sons, Arthur Parrow, Melvin Parrow, Percy Parrow Jr. and Gene Parrow, all of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Michael Parrow and Jerry Parrow, both of Biloxi, Mississippi; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stafford Moore officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
