MELVIN T. SCHUESSLER

PERRYVILLE -- Melvin T. Schuessler, 73, of Perryville died Friday, Sept. 20, 1991, at the Chester Memorial Hospital in Chester, Ill.

He was born July 25, 1918, at Farrar, the son of the late Martin H. and Hedwig M. Mangles Schuessler.

On Nov. 17, 1956, he married Evelyn V. Kaiser, who survives.

He was a retired truck driver and a member and usher at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. He also was a retired member of the Perryville Fire Department, where he served 17 years.

Other survivors include five brothers, Edgar Schuessler of Frohna, Wilbert Schuessler of New Wells, Hilmer Schuessler of Perryville, Vernold Schuessler of Esther and Milton Schuessler of Elmore, Ohio; a sister, Lucille Schlichting of Wittenberg; and a half-sister, Erna Hadler of Perryville.

Two brothers, Edwin and Elmer Schuessler, also preceded him in death.

His body will rest in state from 5-9 p.m. today and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. The Rev. Donald Loesch will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
