Melvin Sitze

BARNHART, Mo. -- Melvin Sitze, 62, of Barnhart died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.

He was born Aug. 11, 1941, at Puxico, Mo., son of Raymond and Daisy Pauline Sitze. He and Pearl Starkey Hartsell were married June 2, 1984, at Marquand, Mo.

Sitze was a member of Mountainview Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Douglas Sitze of Hillsboro, Mo.; a stepson, Darrell Hartsell of Imperial, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Herr of Imperial, Ginger Kirksey of High Ridge, Mo.; a brother, Donald Sitze of Marble Hill, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

The funeral was held Jan. 13 at Mountain View Church, with the Rev. Gene Proffer officiating. Burial was in Old Trace Creek Cemetery.

Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
