PERRYVILLE -- Melvin Paul Mangels, 84, of Perryville died Monday, March 15, 1999, at Perry Oaks Healthcare.
He was born May 21, 1914, in Perry County, son of Paul and Emilie Mueller Mangels. He and Goldie V. Reiss were married April 22, 1941, in Perryville.
Mangels was retired from General Motors in St. Louis. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, and United Auto Workers Local 25 in Bridgeton.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis Mangels of Washington, Mo.; a daughter, Charlotte Satter of Pocahontas; two sisters, Gladys Valleroy of Perryville, Hattie Wunderlich of Ellisville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-10 a.m.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Loesch officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
