PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Melvin Hennemann, 99, of Perryville died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Perry Oaks Manor in Perryville.
He was born Feb. 14, 1909, in Perry County, Mo., son of Theodore and Mary Balsman Hennemann. He and Emma Boxdorfer were married June 27, 1931, in Chester, Ill. She preceded him in death.
Hennemann worked for International Shoe Co. and Saberliner Corp. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Crosstown, Mo.
Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Hennemann of Perryville, James Hennemann of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Melvin Hennemann Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Stephen Hennemann of Omaha, Neb.; five daughters, Imogene Jokerst of Ste. Genevieve, Patricia Huber of Perryville, Laverne Mehner of Bloomsdale, Mo., Lawana Harlan of Birmingham, Ala., Mary Jane Raniszeski of St. Charles, Mo.; 36 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers are at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
