Melvin A. Heise, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Dec. 11, 1913, in Wayne County, Mo., son of Albert F. and Louise Baker Heise. He and Ruth Inglehart were married Dec. 22, 1934, at Egypt Mills, Mo. She died Feb. 25, 1999.
Heise was a custodian 25 years at Southeast Missouri State University. He was a charter member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Leon and Carl Heise of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Donna Isaac, Mary Spurlock and Carol Ann Smith, all of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Elmer Heise of Egypt Mills, Mo., Lawrence Heise of Oak Ridge, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, a brother, three sisters, and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Short will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
