SIKESTON -- Melvin E. Tidwell Sr., 56, of Sikeston, died Sunday, March 29, 1992, at his home.
He was born Feb. 12, 1936, at Sikeston, son of Malcolm and Mildred Heathcoat Tidwell.
Tidwell formerly owned and operated several service stations in Sikeston. He currently owned and operated Tidwell's Auto Cleanup, and was a member of Sikeston Eagles 3319.
Survivors include a son, Melvin Tidwell Jr. of Estill Springs, Tenn.; a daughter, Kathy Dockins of Sikeston; two brothers, Wade Tidwell of Fairview Heights, Ill., Wilson Tidwell of Sikeston; two sisters, Toy Reynolds and Carolyn Pobst of Sikeston, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ken Carnell will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
