PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Melvin J. Blechle, 72, of Perryville died Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, in Bollinger County, Missouri.
He was born May 30, 1946, in Biehle, Missouri, son of Valentine “Wally” and Mildred Pingel Blechle. He and Linda M. Thieret were married May 28, 1994. She survives in Perryville.
Melvin had been a heavy-equipment operator for Local 513. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include four children, Michele (Todd) Ransom of Perryville, Melinda (Chris) Hill of Crawfordville, Florida, Tony Peters and Vicki Roberts, both of Perryville; one sister, Sharon (Ed) Dow of Perryville; one brother, Richard (Pat) Blechle of Blue Springs, Missouri; and nine grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Johnson, Tyler Ransom, Matthew and Sean Hill, Jacob Peters and Derrick, Katelyn and Ava Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Shane; and one brother, Mike.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
He will then be taken to St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle for funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Jim French officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association or St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle.
