ORAN, Mo. -- Melvin Wayne Beal, 62, of Oran died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 13, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, to Melvin C. and Ruth B. Moore Beal. He and Nancy L. Rubel were married July 9, 1966, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills...

ORAN, Mo. -- Melvin Wayne Beal, 62, of Oran died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 13, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, to Melvin C. and Ruth B. Moore Beal. He and Nancy L. Rubel were married July 9, 1966, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills.

Mr. Beal was an auto body repairman for Huckstep Body & Paint Shop for 34 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Egypt Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. Beal of Oran; a son, Brad W. (Paula) Beal of Jackson; two daughters, Lisa (Larry) Schott of Perkins, Mo., Crista (Larry) Horman of Chaffee, Mo.; his mother, Ruth B. Beal of Jackson; two brothers, Gary F. (Frances) Beal of Marble Hill, Mo., Robert D. Beal of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Judy R. (Chuck) Jackson of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, Erica Schott, Tyler Schott, Sierra Holdiness, Haley Holdiness, Brandon Holdiness, Gunner Holdiness, Tayler Beal and Zachary Beal; and a great-grandchild, Madison Holmes.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel with Rev. Kevin Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Egypt Mills.

Memorial contributions may be given to Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Endowment Fund, and to M.D. Anderson Research Center of Houston.
