MELVIN A. FIEDLER

Melvin A. Fiedler of New Wells died Nov. 28, 1993 at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 4, 1907, at New Wells, the son of Martin and Mathilda Schmidt Fiedler. He married the former Frieda Rubel May 18, 1952, at Egypt Mills. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sharon Lipe of Olive Branch, Ill.; two brothers, Edwin Fiedler of St. Louis and Raymond Fielder of Collinsville, Ill.; one sister, Laura Stueve of Festus.; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one stepgrandchild and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

He was a lifelong farmer in the New Wells and a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of New Wells, and had served on the board of elders.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery at Egypt Mills.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Chapel after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
