Melissa Johnston

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Melissa L. "Missy" Johnston, 44, of East Prairie died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Oct. 2, 1962 in Sikeston, Mo., daughter of Loyce D. and Mildred Louise "Sue" Babb Johnston.

Johnston lived most of her life in East Prairie, and was in the trucking industry before becoming ill.

Survivors include a son, Charles Kirby of East Prairie; two daughters, Jacqueline and Kathryn Kirby of East Prairie; a brother, Rickey Johnston of Jackson; two sisters, Susan Morris and Diane Johnston-Linley of East Prairie; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Jon Archie officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
