Melissa MaryKay "Missy" Daniels, 45, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Dec. 20, 1974, in Cape Girardeau to Eldon DeWayne "Wayne" and Margaret McCutchen McDowell. Missy and Tod Daniels were married March 21, 1998.
Missy worked in the cafeteria at Central High School for the past 15-plus years. She loved anything to do with outdoors, enjoyed sewing and loved animals.
Loving survivors include her father, Wayne McDowell of Cape Girardeau; husband, Tod Daniels of Cape Girardeau; son, Luke Daniels, daughter, Logan Daniels, and son, Lathan Daniels, all of Cape Girardeau; brother, Chance DeWayne (Ashley) McDowell of Jackson; sister, Katherine Michelle "Chelle" (Darin) Goodman of Cape Girardeau; granddaughter on the way, Lynna Daniels; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret McDowell.
A celebration of life will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
Ford and Sons recommends that everyone attending the service wear a mask, practice social distancing and extend condolences through non-physical contact.
