DONGOLA, Ill. -- Melba F. Mowery, 77, of Memphis, Tenn., died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, Miss.
She was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Fulton, Ky., daughter of Tony and Myrtle Corbett. She and Laddie Mowery were married Sept. 16, 1941. He died May 28, 1996.
Mowery retired as a manager at Little Pigs Barbeque Restaurant and TOPS in Memphis. She was formerly of Dongola and Cairo, Ill.
Survivors include three sons, David Mowery of Dallas, Texas, James Mowery of Horn Lake, Miss., Judd Mowery of Troy, Ind.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 6-9 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Judd Mowery officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
