ADVANCE, Mo. -- Melba Loraine Fisher, 75, of Advance passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at her home.
She was born March 20, 1938, at Bloomfield, Mo., the daughter of Elzie "Monk" and Julia Patrick Moore. Melba and Herschel Fisher were united in marriage Feb. 9, 1957, at Bloomfield, and he survives of the home.
Melba had been a homemaker. She had also worked as a special education aide, worked at the Advance Nursing Center and at Pyramid Home Health. She was a member of the Perkins Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Julia Moore of Cape Girardeau; her husband, Herschel Fisher of Advance; two sons, Richard Fisher of Advance and Shane Fisher of Milwaukee; a daughter, Melody (Michael) May of Fort Smith, Ark.; two sisters, Carol Jo Layton of Fenton, Mo., and Lola Gay Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Vern Moore; and a daughter-in-law, Kim Fisher.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Swindell officiating and the Rev. Bryant Gill assisting. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
