CHARLESTON -- Funeral mass for Mea Lou Butler of Charleston will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Henry Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Lause will officiate, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
McMikle Funeral Home at Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
Butler, 69, died Monday, April 29, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Charleston, daughter of Ralph and Geneva Murphy Carr. She and J.B. Butler were married July 22, 1944. He died Oct. 13, 1984.
Butler was a retired business owner. She was a member of St. Henry Church, served on the Parish Council, and was a member of Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include six sons, James Butler of Trenton, Mich., Dennis Butler of Poplar Bluff, Scott and Kevin Butler of Cape Girardeau, Kelly and Shannon Butler of Charleston; two daughters, Christy White of San Antonio, Texas, Cathy Brown of Bertrand; a brother, Ralph Carr of Charleston; two sisters, Mary Shrum of Charleston, Patricia Evans of Dexter, and 14 grandchildren.
