BLOOMFIELD -- Mayo McClain, 75, of Bloomfield died Friday, Sept. 15, 1995, at his home.
He was born May 27, 1920, at Bloomfield, the son of Orville Jackson and Gertie Mae Herrell McClain. He married Anetha Albertha McClain on Aug. 26, 1950, at Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death Jan. 19, 1995.
McClain has been a Bloomfield resident for 18 years. He worked as a plasterer in St. Louis for 25 years prior to moving to Bloomfield. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include three sons, David Scott McClain of Bloomfield, David "Ray" Accord of Wappapello, and Michael Williams of Cedar Hill; two sisters, Terzah Cope of St. Peters and Violet Vollmer of St. Charles; four brothers, Robert "Jiggs" and Wilbur McClain, both of Bloomfield, and Jack and Ray McClain, both of Dexter; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Edsel Pruett officiating.
