TAMMS, Ill. -- May "Sherry" Dickerson, 74, of Tamms died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 16, 1930, in Elco, Ill., daughter of Joseph and Mable Sharp Lazar. She first married Wilburn Dickerson, who died in 1996. She later married James Edward "Jim" Bridges.
Dickerson was a member of Elco Baptist Church, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and life member of VFW Auxiliary, both in Murphysboro, Ill.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mary Durham of Tamms, Vickie Koen and Sharon Carter of Anna, Ill.; a son, Kenneth Dickerson of Granite City, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Lessar of Tamms; a brother, Edward Lessar of Tamms; two sisters, Gladys Ramage of Olive Branch, Ill., Dora Warren of Miller City, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Buddy Walls officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery west of Dongola, Ill.
